The Wall is Gone! Posted by Hello

Chance & Jazlyn Posted by Hello

Cool Beans!!!

As you can see from the above picture, the wall is gone. The new area that you are looking at is the new frontroom. The carpeted area is the existing frontroom and will now become the dining room. My husband is working so hard. He has a list of thing to do labeled with BS (before Sheetrock) or AS (after Sheetrock) and is slowly working his way down the list. I can't help him with much, but I do have alot of staining to do. I did the first coat on the closet door this afternoon and finished the windows. So we are getting there.

The other picture is of Chance and his cousin Jazlyn. Good thing they are related, or I would think I had already lost my little boy. He did inform me today that he was going to marry Jazzy. I didn't bother to explain the whole relation thing, but I did say, "Aren't you going to marry me?" He told me he would marry both of us. I said, "I don't know if you can handle two wives, you'd better ask your dad!"

My brother & I up in the Sandia Mountains Posted by Hello

I'm Home

It is really nice to go away, but it is nice to come home!

Albuquerque was really nice and warm. I think every day was about 75-80 degrees. We were able to go up in the mountains a couple of times and enjoy the pretty senery. The picture above is of me and my brother on one of our trips up in the mountains to a picnic area.

My brother's girls graduated on Monday night and we had the party Tuesday night. I am thankful that I got a chance to go and get to know the girls. The were born in Albuquerque and I have only seen them a handful of times in their lives. This trip I really got to know them and they are wonderful girls. I really wish them the best.

It is really good to be home and No, my son did not forget me!!! It is not quite as warm here as it is in New Mexico, but it sure is alot greener. I don't know how those people stand the fact that the nearest lake is 150 miles away and only the really rich people have lawns. According to my brother, they give the people of Albuquerque a tax break if they get rid of their lawns and just have rocks or dirt. I guess they told the people that when the city was built they thought there was a huge lake underneath it, but have now since found out that isn't true and the city is running out of water.

Being a Mom is Hard

Wow, I just had the most horrible experience in my life! Mom, my sister Diane, and I arrived in Albuquerque yesterday afternoon. David called me last night and said that he had a sad little boy that wanted to talk to me. Chance got on the phone and he just started crying. He kept saying, "mommy, I just love you and I want you to come home!" And he would just sob. I could barley stand it. Before you knew it, I was crying on the phone. Finally we got him calmed down and he would say, "I will be OK mom." That was even worse somehow. I couldn't stand it, if I could have gotten on a plane and headed home at that second, I would have. This mom thing is hard on the heart!

Other than that, Albuquerque is good. It was around 75 - 80 degrees here today and very sunny. We did the shopping thing pretty much most of the day today. I can't wait to take my brother's motorcycle and go up in the Mountains. My brother lives at the base of the Sandia's and so I am really looking forward to that.

Happy Belated Mother's Day

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all mothers! I had a great Mother's Day. David woke up with a headache so Chance promptly went and got the Caladryl Lotion and the bottle of Vicks and proclaimed that those would help Daddy get better. For some reason he feels that anything that comes out of the bathroom will fix you! Having a three year old is so wonderful. It sure opens up a totally new world!

My nephew Justin and his wife Heather had Sandy, mom, Heather's mom, Heather's sister and David, Chance and I over for dinner for Mother's Day. That was wonderful, Thanks guys.

David asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and I told him that I wanted the wall between the new house and the old house to come down. So, like a wonderful husband that is what he started to do. But, like all house projects, it wasn't as easy as we would hope. The sizzer trusses that were holding up the existing house were not sitting on the outside wall like they should have been. So, after Thad and David stared at the the trusses for a few minutes and discussed what could possibly be holding up the roof, they decided that David should just take part of the wall out and see what was up there. So, until we get hangers, we can't take all of the wall down. But, some of it came down yesterday and that makes me really happy!!! Oh the joys of building. Sometimes I bet David would like me to say, "I would love a Diamond Ring!"

I am busy packing to leave for Alburqurque tomorrow. We actually don't fly out until early Wednesday morning, but we are going to stay at my sister's in Duluth tomorrow night so we don't have to get up so early. That would absolutely kill my mother. Anything before 8:00 am is totally out of the question. I am a little nervous about going, I have not left Chance for such a long time. The longest was last year when I went into the Boundry Waters for 5 days. I guess that is what Cell Phones are for hey.

Don't you feel sorry for this poor Elephant? Posted by Hello

Circus Time

Today was Circus day!!! David and I took Chance to the Circus this morning. This is actually his second Circus, but the first one he was only one so he doesn't remember it. We went to the 10:00am performance and apparently it was too early for most people because it wasn't too full. We got there about 15 minutes before they shut down the animal rides so mom and Chance got to ride the Elephant. Chance was very quick to point out that we were getting to sit on his butt. The Elephant ride was a very big hit. At first he wasn't sure about it, but once he was on it, he proclaimed it "Cool Beans!!"

The Circus was nice. We only stayed for the first half. With a 3 year old with the attention span of Chance, that was a long time to sit. He loved the Tigers and Lions and he really liked the funny clowns. The second half was jugglers, trapeze artists and stuff like that. He was more into the animals. I am thankful they put all of the animals in the first act.

Hopefully the beginning of a long friendship!! Posted by Hello

OK, so I think I am getting this blog thing down, but if anybody can tell me how to personalize my template and set up links I would be forever grateful.

Today was a busy day in the life of the McCormacks. We went to a funeral for a sort of relative and the rest of the afternoon was spent visiting. Of course tonight was "Chance is here today school" and that is always fun. Unfortunately next Tuesday is the last night for the summer. We haven't told Chance that school's out for the summer soon. I think he will be sad, but he will make it.

The highlight of the day is pictured above. Yesterday when we were coming home from our Dr.'s appointment we saw the motorcycle sitting in a yard on 7th Ave. We turned around and got the phone number and I called on it this afternoon. The price was reasonable so I of course sent dad to look at it after work. He called me at the Baron's house and informed me that he bought the bike and I needed to bring the checkbook. After "Chance is here today school" we had to head right to L & M to see if we could find a helmet for him. The one in the picture was purchased last year at a rummage sale and is a little big. OK for riding with mom or dad or on the 4-wheeler, but not for navigating his own cycle. Anyway, all helmets were too big so we will have to order one.

The first trip on the motorcycle was one to be seen. The cycle goes 30 and I think it went 0-30 in 2 seconds. Of course dad can't run that fast and so he was flying solo across the yard and right into a grove of pine trees where the bike tipped over. I was a little nervous as he was heading for the trees, but after he landed, I couldn't help but laugh. He didn't think it was so funny until I told him Gramma did the same thing on her moped and she swears she was going 50 mile an hour. But, "flash" as it is now known only did 20 down a steep hill. Dad has to get the screw out that cuts down the throttle for a little while until Chance gets the hang of regulating the throttle and not just turning it wide open.

I am sure there will be more crashes and nervous moments, but I can't wait to see him do his first triple. When we originally told Gramma about the idea of a motorcycle when Chance was first born we told her we were going to build a motocross track in the field next to the house so we could race on it. She promptly told us she would get out the gun and start shooting out the tires on the bike. We decided that since her aim is not good at all, we could get alot of riding done before she managed to hit a tire. Tonight David told her she better get the gun out and start practicing! Good luck Gramma!!

6th Month Dr. Appointment

Well, David and I went to our 6th Month Dr.'s Appointment today. Dr. Baldwin assured me that I am not the fatest Pregnant person she has ever seen, I think she gets paid to say that!

Baby is doing good, heartbeat is 140 bpm, boy or girl???? Only God knows right now. We are just happy it is doing good. I had to drink the sugar stuff to test you for Gestational Diabetes. I told David it was gross but he said I drink my tea like that every day so what was my problem!

Wow, I Finally Got This Blog Thing

I guess it is time for the McCormacks to join the blog thing. That way anybody that cares what is going on in our life can just read and find out. I guess that mostly means the Michigan family members. I thought this would be a good way for you guys to keep up with our busy lives. Today is cold and snowing and I just talked to David and he is on his way home because he is sick. I think he just needs to sleep and sleep. We had a great weekend and Thanks to the Clairs for opening up their house for us to just hang at all day yesterday and for the good food.

And, while we were hanging at the Clairs, work was being done on our house. We came home to find a new back door installed, and about 3/4 of the back of the house sided. That was cool. Also, our Lilly Ann came home. She has a few issues (I think she needs Prozac) and she left and went to her original home for a couple of days and refused to come out. But last night she came home, well I went over there and when she seen me, she snapped out of it and ran home with me, and seems pretty happy to be here. The little boy was sleeping, so he was pretty happy this morning to wake up and find his Lilly Ann sleeping beside his bed. The things we do for our kids!
